This week it’s our pleasure to introduce you to the brilliant Alisha Gonsalves!
Alisha has been with us since December 2020, starting off as a trainee hostess and working her way up ever since.
As history graduate, Alisha is a all year round guest favourite and says she loves interacting with guests because she learns a lot by talking to people who come from various backgrounds, cultures and countries around the world.
Despite of just being in her early 20s, Alisha effectively manages restaurant operations and handles guest relations simultaneously. A truly valuable team player!
Where are you from?
I’m from Cuncolim, a quaint town in South Goa!
Which is your most-loved Karma Group property?
I’d have to say Karma Royal Haathi Mahal – It is where I started my career and it has taught me a lot whether it’s related to life or work related.
What do you like to do in your free time?
During my free time I like to spend quality time with my family and loved ones, apart from that I also like spending evenings at the beach watching Goa’s beautiful sunsets.
What’s your favourite food from your home country?
My favourite food would be Goan Beef Stew with macaroni pasta – it’s a combination of beef, vegetables and macaroni, shimmering in a creamy gravy… Yum!
Tell us something interesting about you?
Something interesting about me would be that I’m definitely a people person – I like interacting with new people, getting to know more about them, their likes and dislikes etc.., it’s where I get most knowledge from – gaining new information about various things.
Where was the last destination you went to on holiday?
The last place I visited was Tamil Nadu (the 10th largest state in India). I’m glad that I chose this place, whether it was the churches or the temples or the mountains, everything was beautiful – but most important was the cuisine.
What do you enjoy the most about working at Karma Group India?
The fact that I get the opportunity to learn a lot. Apart from my department, there are so many other departments from which I get to learn many things. Getting to meet people and knowing about their culture and lifestyle is expanding my knowledge.
We get regular training sessions from the company, where I personally get to learn so many new things and I look forward to discovering more.
Many thanks for sharing Alisha, it was fantastic getting to know you more!
We met Alisha in January this year during our six week stay at the Haathi. It is no surprise to hear what a valued member of staff she is as she was truly brilliant! . Always checking we had what we needed and making sure our food was of a high standard , but best of all the lovely smile she always greets you with .
I remember meeting Alisha in January this year at Haathimahal. She was always there to help with a smile. The day she was on a holiday during our stay, the meals at the restaurant was not as pleasant.
