Wine has always been part of the Karma story – and so it should come as no surprise that we’ve created our very own Karma Wine Club to celebrate the good grape and its many pleasures. We’re now delighted to bring you the inaugural Karma Wine Club escape – and it’s a special one, as we bring Verona to the shores of Lake Schliersee. Over three days at Karma Bavaria, Members go beyond the glass to discover the stories, traditions and craftsmanship behind many of Verona’s most celebrated wines.
Our partner for Volume 1 is Enoteca Baraldi, a family-run Verona wine house with almost fifty years of expertise in producing world class wines. Proceedings open with a Veronese aperitivo: Zamuner Brut, a méthode classique from the hills above Verona, poured alongside Grana Padano and soppressa veronese.
The following afternoon, a guided class unpacks three Valpolicella wines – Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto – and the appassimento method that dries the grapes before pressing and gives each its distinctive depth. That evening, dinner opens with a Soave or Lugana before moving through all three reds, with every course introduced at the table.
Between pours, Members can walk the shoreline of Lake Schliersee, unwind in the wellness area at Karma Bavaria and settle into long alpine evenings.
