Psst… oenophiles take note– we’re stocking up our ever-expanding cellar of world-class wines at Karma Wines with two new Karma varieties and an exciting new English Pinot Noir that you’ll soon be able to sample on your next Karma holiday…
Karma Malepère – 2022
Malepère is a lesser-known appellation of fine wines produced from grapes that grow in vineyards surrounding Karma Château de Samary just outside the famed citadel of Carcassonne. Locals have been enjoying delicious, robust & reasonably priced wines in this region since the days of the Mediæval Cathar knights.
Karma Bordeaux 2022
This beautifully blended red features Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from one of the most prestigious appellations of the Left Bank alongside Merlot and Cabernet Franc adding luscious velvety tannins. It is very special to Karma Group’s Chairman John Spence’s heart, as it was blended by John himself, his brother, and his father, who sadly passed away recently. What better way to remember the remarkable man than by opening a bottle of this expertly crafted red and raising a toast to him.
Riverview Crouch Valley
We’ve two brand new additions to Karma Salford Hall’s already substantial cellar, both hailing from the Riverview Crouch Valley Vineyard in England. First up is a delicious Pinot Noir: Hand-harvested at the beginning of November 2021, it has a delicate palate with floral notes and red fruit aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and cranberry with just a smidgeon of smoke, orange peel and sweet spice on a lingering finish. Then there is the Chardonnay– hand-harvested a month earlier than its sister Pinot Noir, it is redolent of lychee, mandarin with a lime zestiness and a creamy mouthwatering finish– also fermented and aged for a further 12 months in French oak barrels. Both are standouts in the new breed of English wines.
