It was one Vladimir Raitz who pioneered the so-called ‘package holiday’ when he began offering the first all-inclusive vacations, with his first group of tourists heading to Corsica in 1950, where they slept in tents and paid the princely sum of £32.50. Raitz’s company Blue Horizons would go on to become one of the biggest tour operators in the UK, pioneering Majorca, Malaga and the Costa Brava.
