Goa’s rich culinary heritage draws from a melting pot of Indian and European influences. For food lovers, this tiny coastal state offers an irresistible bounty of flavours to savour – and we’ll be discovering them across three days of sensory immersion as we embark on a delectable culinary journey through Goa’s iconic dishes and hidden culinary gems.
The adventure begins on 25 June at picturesque Karma Royal MonteRio, set among undulating hills close to the banks of the Baga River. After settling in, Members will be treated to a welcome dinner showcasing exquisitely prepared Goan classics.
The next day, tour leader Shailesh escorts the group on a secret food and tavern trail through Panjim’s Latin Quarter, unearthing local sweets and savoury snacks like the famed chicken xacuti, and more delights overlooked by most tourists.
On 27 June, the tour heads South with resort GM Matilda to her quaint coastal village of Betalbatim. Here, guests will discover the lost art of making traditional Goan bread (“pao”) with local experts. You’ll knead and bake your own loaves, craft panini with an Italian twist, and visit Majorda’s famous railway cargo station. With its unique confluence of flavours, Goa offers an unparalleled feast for gourmands. This immersive tour provides an authentic taste of the region’s storied gastronomy.
