Mrs Janet Kendrick Testimonial

Covid 19 was not going to stop us from having a weekend away.  Living in WA is a safe place (thank you Premiere) and where better to go than to the famous Rottnest Island.  Never having been before we wanted to check out the Quokka’s (of course) and to see what everyone is raving about.

The ferry from Fremantle only took 25 minutes, so very little of our time was wasted travelling. Karma Rottnest is just a short walk from the ferry terminal and very easy to find.

Winter, maybe was not the right time of year but we needed a break so off we went to Karma.  We had a lovely lakeside room, the lake was beautiful and so relaxing to sit outside on the veranda and watch the world go by – well Quokka’s anyway.  Our room was large and comfy with all the amenities you would expect from a Karma resort.  As it was wintertime not everything in the hotel and the rest of the island for that matter, was open.

Our meals were taken at Gov’s Sports bar which was just a short stroll from our room.  There we could relax over a meal, have a drink, meet new people and just veg.

We hopped on the bus that took us around the island – it was a hop on, hop off bus so we could get off and explore and catch the next bus to go on.

We were lucky staying at Karma because the village and all it has to offer are right on the doorstep.  So we shopped at the General store, bought pies at the bakery (to share with the seagulls) and had selfies with the Quokkas, oh and don’t leave your room door open unless you are prepared for little Quokka visitors by the way.

All in all, I believe it is a great place to visit but leave it until the weather is warmer for I do believe the beaches are lovely, the snorkelling amazing and lots of swimming to be had.
