Mid August saw Karma Curated Experiences deliver a pair of cultural adventures in the mountains of central Vietnam and the French pyrenees respectively. Here are just a few of the highlights from each…
Glamping & Pagodas on Marble Mountain, Vietnam (14-17 Aug)
Eight intrepid Karma Members embarked on a fascinating 3-day adventure centred on an exhilarating exploration of the historic Marble Mountains close to Hoi An, where ancient caves and skilled artisans’ workshops awaited. Linh Ung Pagoda provided breathtaking panoramas, while another gem was Toom Sara Village – a hidden paradise where Members relaxed by the river, engaged in friendly competition, and savoured a mouthwatering BBQ under a canopy of stars. Members also had the chance to learn the art of traditional Vietnamese coffee-making. All in all a perfect mix of nature, culture and cuisine!
Hidden Histories of Corbier Massif, France (13-14 Aug)
This two-day excursion delved into the rich history of this fascinating and ancient region of the Languedoc close to Karma Chateau de Samary. Members explored St. Hilaire Abbey, considered by many to be the birthplace of sparkling wine, and sampled the excellent local Blanquette de Limoux. The adventure continued through enchanting towns like Alet-les-Bains and Fanjeaux, where ancient Cathar secrets whispered from every stone. A surprise detour to a bustling car boot sale in Villepinte added a dash of local flavour to this already rich historical tapestry.
