Be the Best You : Goal Setting 2021

It’s often said that the universe has our back. That when we articulate clear affirmations, we are one step closer to getting what we want.  Want to learn a new skill? Set financial goals? Say goodbye to bad habits? Here are a handful of meaningful ways to keep you striving and thriving in 2021!

Gratitude is the Attitude 

There’s a lot to be said for not taking things for granted and developing a gratitude practice. According to some, the more we appreciate, the more we receive.  Keep a journal and record daily the things you feel grateful for or at night before sleep, think of 10 positive things you feel grateful for that day. You’ll have more energy and feel more inspired!  

Positivity in a Jar

This is a fun game for the entire family. All you need is a large jar and sticky note pad. At the end of each day,  write one positive thing that happened that day and place it in the jar. At the end of the month, read out all your notes. Repeat for February (and March)! 

Letting Go Ceremony

This ritual is often performed at wellness retreats and involves writing down all the things you no longer want or need in your life and burning these in a fire. Afterwards, write down and affirm all the things you now want to bring into your life and keep these notes in a safe place and modify as needed. 

Write yourself a letter

Another popular ritual is to write a letter to yourself with a wish list of all that you want. Ask a friend to send it to you in twelve months. You’ll be amazed at all the things that you have manifested over the year.  The act of writing things down can be  powerful! 

Vision Board

Another effective way to manifest what you want in life. You can decorate your board with images, words, phrases and wishes. It’s said that if we read our vision board on a regular basis, we will manifest these in reality. 

The Law of Attraction 

Some recommend to live and act as if we are ‘already there’ and already have what we want (fake it til we make it type scenario). For example, if you are going through a difficult time emotionally, simply focus on the things that make you happy. Do things that make you feel good. The more you feel good, the more you will feel good. The more you feel good, the more you will get.  Voila!

Your list for 2021 is brilliant and I support all these ideas, and I recommend them to others. “Attitude”….at the end of every day we ask ourselves “What have we achieved today? “Positivity” and a good feeling is achieved from this. . “Letting go”….Sold our family house and moved to a small apartment. Sold and found good homes for everything surplus to our immediate needs. Wow….that was really difficult but it got easier and was so liberating. The surplus money is in the bank ready to help our grown kids or for our next holiday adventure which is our future dream. PS……….Every Sunrise is a new opportunity.
