Your Vietnam Travel FAQs Answered!

It’s just a few weeks until Karma Group’s newest Vietnamese property is set for its grand opening, Karma Song Hoai!

To get you prepared and stress-free for travel, we’ve compiled a list of the most common questions we have been receiving in regards to holidaying in Vietnam. As always, we advise regularly checking the regulations in both your home country and in Vietnam, as rules are changing rapidly!

Question: What Covid-19 related requirements are in place to enter Vietnam?

Answer: Vietnam no longer requires evidence of your vaccination status, but you do still need to present proof of a negative Covid test (except for children under 2 years) done within 72 hours prior to departure for PCR, or within 24 hours for rapid antigen tests.

Question: Do I need a health declaration?

Answer: Visitors must make a health declaration before entering Vietnam and install/use the Vietnam health declaration Application. Travellers must also have medical or travel insurance that covers Covid, with a minimum cover of USD 10,000.

Question: Do I need a visa to enter Vietnam?

Answer: A selection of countries have been granted visa waivers, allowing citizens to travel to Vietnam for up to 15 days without needing to apply for a visa. However, the standard process is to apply for the visa online before you travel; which allows you to stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days. There is lots of information on the government website. Allow roughly 2 weeks for the visa process.

Question: What is the closest airport to Hoi An?

Answer: Da Nang International Airport is just 29km away from Hoi An, where Karma Song Hoai is nestled. Many main airlines have regular flights to and from Da Nang Airport.

Question: Are there any helpful links?

Answer:

If you have any questions that haven’t been answered, we recommend visiting official government websites for Vietnam and your home country, as they’re always packed with helpful information – And our Karma Odyssey team is always here to answer your questions to the best of their ability.
