In this week’s Karma Community we meet the fantastic Suzy Humphreys!
Suzy has been part of the Karma Group family for 4 years – If you’re a regular visitor to Karma Royal Candidasa, Bali, you may have had the delight of meeting her in person as she is our wonderful Guest Relations girl there.
Let’s say hello…
Where are you from?
From Sydney originally, then the Gold Coast, Australia.
What do you like most about working for Karma Group?
Everything! I love the resorts, the staff, the amazing team that I work with, the Members and guests that I meet and the lifetime friends I have made through Karma. To me Karma is like a family. I have worked with many companies in my work life and Karma is rocket ships ahead!
What is your favourite city in the world and why?
Paris. I typically like small and quaint towns, but Paris to me is so exciting, romantic, historical and just plain beautiful. My husband took me to Paris for my 40th Birthday and I fell in love with it. And what’s not to like about the true champagne! And I’ve had some of the best red wine I’ve ever tasted in Paris. Anyone who knows me, knows that my favourite accent is French! Speak to me in a French accent and I simply melt!
What do you get up to when you’re not working?
I’m always working! But in my spare time, I try to catch up with friends, get my maintenance done (nails, hair……) and enjoy Candidasa.
We’re all about the Karma Fit initiative at the moment – do you have a favourite physical activity or sport you try to participate in regularly?
In my younger days, I was a champion Ballroom and Latin Dancer which kept me super fit. These days I enjoy Yin Yoga.
Are you team winter wonderland or sun-soaked?
Despite living in Bali, I’m team winter-wonderland! I’m crazy….I love the cold and I’m hanging out waiting for Karma Alaska!
What’s a fun fact about you?
I was cast in the Australian movie “Strictly Ballroom”. That was when I decided I was never going to be an actress! Out of bed at 3am and off the set at midnight! I love my sleep!
What’s the last book you read?
The Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child, The Killing Floor. I’m a sucker for a good thriller!

Suzy is a wonderful, caring and loving person. I had the opportunity to have met her on my 77th birthday and last Christmas at Karma Candidasa. Excellent arrangements and we all with other guests and their families had a wonderful time. Suzy was there for everyone when needed. I wish her happiness and joy for this Easter. God will we will return.
We absolutely love Suzy, nothing is too much bother, she goes out of her way to make sure that you’re comfortable and is always there if you need anything and you can call and message anytime and know that she will get straight back to you. Thank you Suzy for making our stay just perfect last December in Candidasa and we look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks.
We met Suzy at Candidasa several years ago and we got on like a house on fire. My wife Dayle and me absolutely love Karma Candidasa and can’t wait to get there again this year and spend some quality time with Suzy. I am hoping to bring my 12 string guitar this year to entertain our fellow guests at both Karma Candidasa and also Karma Sanur where we will also be staying for a week both before and after Candi. Hello Suzy…….thanks for all your help as we enjoy more of our Karma membership. You are an asset to Karma and a fun friend….see you in May. Then hopefully again at Christmas unless you have been transferred to Alaska
