This week we meet Bu Agung who has been working with the Group for a quarter of a century – wow!

Where are you from and how long have you been working for Karma Group?
I am from Klungkung regency, Bali. I have been with the Karma Group since 1998, almost 24 years.
How would you describe your job role?
I manage the occupancy information and optimise space utilization of all the Karma Group properties – Planning space to meet business objectives. Assigning and managing task assignments.
What’s your favourite thing about Bali and being Balinese?
My favourite thing about Bali is the unique traditions and cultural systems, especially when the big ceremony is held; such as Nyepi and Galungan day – I am so proud of being Balinese because of this.
If you could holiday at any Karma Group property, which would it be and why?
Karma Minoan in Crete, Greece. The views of the sea are amazing. It’s built into the hill of Vathy and the place is so relaxing.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I love watching movies and also reading my favourite books.
Do you have a favourite Balinese food/dish you’d recommend?
There are so many Balinese foods that I could recommend. You must try Balinese seafood, Ayam Betutu Bali (Balinese Spiced Chicken) and also Jajan Bali (a Balinese snack). Those are my favourites!
Where is your must-see attraction or spot on the Island of Gods that you can share with our Members/Guests?
Ubud. You can check out some of Bali’s most popular attractions there – Visit Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Tegenungan Waterfall, Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, an art market (where you can shop for souvenirs), and Tirta Empul Temple (known for its natural springs).
A change in the Karmaverse!
In the next couple of weeks, you are likely to notice a few changes with our websites and emails, as we go through a product rebranding!
As a part of the Karma Club rebranding, we are excited to announce that the Karma Odyssey department has changed its name to Karma Concierge – Your servicing office will remain the same and, as always, your Karma Concierge team members (previously Karma Odyssey Navigators) are on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
Our new look Karma Club website will be completely finished very soon; should you wish to schedule a web orientation to go over the many wonderful features, please do let us know.
Along with changes to branding, we are also adding further benefits to selected memberships, including; complimentary House Breakfast at selected Karma Group properties, and dogs are now welcome at participating Karma Group properties with no additional charge, be sure to contact your nearest servicing office, for further information on the new benefits!
