Goa Carnival: 18 February 2023

Carnival is a pre-Lent celebration that marks the beginning of Lent – traditionally, a period of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In Goa, it’s an annual four-day celebration marked by music, dance, food and a lot of colour.

During the Goa Carnival, the streets come alive with colourful parades, live music, and dances. People dress up in elaborate costumes and masks and participate in various events, including street performances, parades, and parties. The carnival also features food stalls offering traditional Goan cuisine and drinks.

The Goa Carnival is an important cultural event that showcases the rich history and heritage of Goa, and is a celebration of life, joy, and unity.

This year, the unique celebration takes place from 18 – 21 February so if you’re lucky enough to stay at one of our Goan resorts over these dates make sure to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and revel in the festivities!

Holi Festival: 8th March 2023

Holi is a popular Hindu festival celebrated in India, also known as the “Festival of Colours” or the “Festival of Love”. It is one of the largest and most vibrant festivals in India, attracting tourists from all over the world. 

The festival is famous for the joyful custom of throwing coloured powders and water on friends and family, dancing, singing, and feasting. People also light bonfires and offer prayers to Hindu gods. The festival has a strong cultural and religious significance, symbolising the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring.

Holi has become a popular festival celebrated by people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds, and has gained widespread popularity all over the world. The festival spreads a message of unity, love, and inclusiveness, and is a time for people to come together, forget their differences and celebrate life.
