Starry-Eyed in the UK

Northern Lights in the UK and Europe? Yep, that’s correct.

If you’re local to the UK/EU or were visiting last week, you may have caught a glimpse of some pretty dreamy activity in the night sky – The Aurora Borealis!

We don’t mean to brag, but our properties’ scenic views are incredible all year round – but during a rare Northern Lights sighting? The backdrop was nothing short of magical.

In case you missed it, on 10 and 11 May, parts of the UK and Europe were treated to a remarkable light show – the Aurora Borealis. This mesmerising natural light display normally occurs in the Earth’s polar regions, predominantly visible in the Arctic…

The phenomenon happens when charged particles from the sun interact with the Earth’s atmosphere, creating colourful ribbons and curtains of light, typically in shades of green, pink, purple, and blue. It’s a stunning manifestation of Earth’s magnetic field interacting with solar wind.

Now, it’s looking like there may be more opportunities to view the Northern Lights at Karma Lake of Menteith or Karma St. Martin’s again in the coming weeks with more solar storms forecast. And even without the light show,  we  highly recommend visiting these locations (and our other European resorts) this Summer to enjoy the unbeatable high season vibes!
