Small Gifts, A Lasting Difference

Generosity, put to good use, tends to show up in the smallest details: a television flickering to life in a village classroom, a shared meal, a child’s face at a Mid-Autumn Festival gathering. This recent charity programme, made possible by the kindness of Members Robert and Elizabeth Mactaggart alongside support from Karma and the Song Hoai team, delivered exactly that to a local ethnic minority community.

Four televisions now sit in the kindergarten, opening up new ways to learn. Meals were cooked and shared with the children by the Karma Song Hoai team, and a proper Mid-Autumn Festival celebration followed, gifts included. Most of all, time was spent simply being present with the children, building the kind of warmth that doesn’t show up in any spreadsheet.

None of it would have happened without Robert and Elizabeth’s generosity, and Karma’s team came away having given something real, and having received something in return too.

A small programme, genuinely well spent.
