Karma Group was honoured to take part in the recent BrainChild Ball 2023 in New York, where we donated a high value prize as part of the event’s raffle. This spectacular gala was a resounding success, raising an impressive USD 330,000 towards the critical cause of eradicating paediatric brain cancer.
Against the vibrant New York City backdrop, over 530 guests gathered to celebrate the city’s diversity and culture, turning the BrainChild Ball into a dazzling spectacle – all for a great cause. The evening marked more than just a glamorous affair; it represented a collective effort to turn the vision of a world with happy, healthy children, free from the grip of brain cancer, into a reality.
Funds generated from this year’s BrainChild Ball are directed towards the groundbreaking PrEclinical Translational Research Alliance for Paediatric Brain Cancer (PETRA). This collaborative initiative brings together research scientists and clinicians from 14 institutions across Australia, uniting them in a mission to revolutionise treatments for medulloblastoma and diffuse midline glioma, the culprits responsible for almost half of all childhood cancer deaths.
We hope that in a small way Karma Group’s contribution will help the Brain Tumour Research Team (BTRT) conduct advanced drug screenings using cutting-edge technologies. These screenings aim to identify novel treatments, ultimately accelerating the transition from research to clinical applications and bringing us one step closer to saving the lives of children battling brain cancer.
