Indian Food Challenge

Since joining us in 2018, Joseph Antonishek has been a formidable culinary creative force – not only at his base of operations at Karma Kandara, but across Karma Group’s SEAP resorts over the last 18 months. So we’re delighted to share the news that Chef Joe (as he’s affectionately known) has just been promoted from his regional role to the position of Karma Group Executive Chef – effectively responsible for all things food & beverage related at Karma Group.

Joe’s infectious personality, tenacity and the sheer joy he derives from cooking elevates the offerings at Karma Kandara and at all of our resorts and eateries – and he’s as dedicated to learning about new culinary traditions as he is to sharing his own prodigious skills with those around him. Recent trips to Thailand, Vietnam and especially India have seen him absorb new flavours and techniques, while working with our chefs and kitchen teams.

Joe’s most recent culinary adventure has seen him bring his newfound skills in Indian cooking to bear on our European resorts, where he recently put together an Indian Menu Challenge, with head chefs presenting their best classic Indian recipes – which Karma Group Members will soon be able to enjoy themselves. Joe’s assessment? “Excellent effort across the board!”

All the chefs managed to put together delicious authentic Indian menus, each adding their own unique twists. The prize, however, went to Karma Lake of Menteith Chef Joe Peden, whose culinary prowess was once again on full display, serving up delicious and authentic Indian dishes with his customary flair. The win comes hot on the heels of his recent Gary Goldie Memorial Quaich for Chef & Food Inspiration Award, which recognised the exceptional dining experiences he’s been crafting at Karma Lake of Menteith.

We’re excited to see what both Joes have up their sleeves as they continue to expand their repertoires – and indeed all of our talented chef and kitchen teams around the world that continue to delight our taste buds – stay tuned for incoming Indian pop-up food experiences over the coming months across our Karma Group properties.
