The World’s Best Islands

The results are in for Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Islands 2024, and Karma Group Members once again have reason to celebrate. The list showcases some of the globe’s most captivating island destinations as voted by readers — and Karma Group resorts grace several of the top 10, including the #1 and #3 spots!

The Maldives lands first place this year, with visitors captivated by their crystalline waters, teeming reefs and white sand-fringed tropical atolls. The timing couldn’t be better for Members either as we’re about to launch our luxury vessel Karma Fushi, giving you the opportunity to fish, snorkel and dive the archipelago’s fertile waters, visit castaway beaches and sample the famous Maldivian hospitality.

Claiming the #3 spot is Bali —  a perennial favourite that continues to enchant visitors with its rich culture, lush tropical landscapes, volcanoes, rice paddies and cosmopolitan culinary and nightlife offerings. Flagship property, Karma Kandara is one of the island’s most prestigious resorts, while nearby Karma Jimbaran provides couples and family-friendly private pool villas and boutique hotel service in a haven that’s just steps from legendary sunset spot Jimbaran Beach. Not to mention our Karma Royal resorts in Jimbaran, Sanur and the peaceful coastal town of Candidasa.

Coming in #6 is Crete. Largest of the Greek islands, Crete captivated readers with its ancient ruins and timeless Mediterranean lifestyle. Karma Minoan, perched above Crete’s North Eastern coast in the beautiful bay of Mirabello, provides a perfect base for exploring the island’s rich history and stunning beaches.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui in Thailand also makes the Top 10 this year, coming in at #9. The island’s laid-back vibe, Buddhist temples and palm-fringed shores continue to attract visitors From all over the world. Again, we’ve timed things perfectly with our brand new Samui acquisition Karma Panalee, which joins our Karma Royal Boat Lagoon in neighbouring Phuket to offer Members the chance to really get to know this famous Thai archipelago. And what do you know – Phuket is #16 this year!
