Take The High Road To Fine Dining

Back in edition 166 of Karma Community, we interviewed Karma Lake of Menteith’s new Executive Chef Joe Peden. A few months on, and Joe – who is something of a celebrity North of the border – is already making waves at our lakeshore retreat in the Trossachs with his hearty cooking. Karma Lake of Menteith is a finalist in this year’s Food Awards Scotland – and we’d love you to help us win the top spot! 

If you’ve been lucky enough to taste Joe’s cooking, you’ll understand why he’s so highly regarded. He has a passion for American barbecue food from the deep South, having worked in smokehouses and kitchens in North Carolina during a stint in the States. His menu at Karma Lake of Menteith incorporates these influences alongside many other cosmopolitan culinary traditions – think jerk chicken thighs with coconut rice or corn ribs with salsa matcha or Szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms….. He also makes the most of the amazing farm-to-table ingredients that are available in the Trossachs – notably from the nearby Rednock Estate with its delicious venison as well as pheasant and partridge.

Couple Joe’s cuisine with the resort’s magical lakeside setting – you can literally watch ospreys catching fish outside the window – and it’s easy to see why Karma Lake of Menteith is such a hit with Members as well as local foodies looking for a destination dining experience par excellence!
