A 60-metre dome just outside Jaipur is about to turn the night sky into a canvas. SkyDome, India’s first permanent immersive event space, opens this month in Kukas with room for 5,000 guests beneath 17 laser projectors capable of remaking the room from desert to deep space in seconds, hosting everything from concerts to weddings, reason enough on its own for Members to put Jaipur on your 2027 holiday wishlist.
Of course Rajasthan rewards a longer stay with a myriad wonders to discover in one of India’s most colourful and creative regions. Kick off the Jaipur leg at Karma Haveli, our 18th-century family mansion tucked behind the old city walls, a stepwell in its courtyard and the pink sandstone Hawa Mahal a short walk away. West across the Thar Desert, we swap the haveli for Karma Golden Camp’s tents and cottages, ten kilometres from the Sam Sand Dunes, where camel rides, folk music and dinner on the sand replace room service. South, in the City of Lakes, we split time between Karma Seven Lakes, its rooftop pool looking out over Fatehsagar Lake, dinner arriving as plates of dal baati churma, and Karma Amaatra, a hillside retreat built on its Ett Hem, Swedish for ‘at home’, philosophy, in the Aravalli foothills.
