Karma Duyen debuts in Vietnam

Karma has long maintained a presence in Hoi An – Vietnam’s fabled UNESCO World Heritage settlement with its historic shopfronts, Buddhist temples, lantern-lit lanes, ornate bridges and tranquil riverbanks. And as of 01 August, Members can experience a brand new riverfront escape on the outskirts of the town.

Hidden in Cam Thanh village, Karma Duyên stands on the banks of the Đò River, its infinity pool angled to catch the water’s shimmer. The retreat leans into a wellness ecosystem model: river-view studios and two-bedroom apartments built for stillness, a spa drawing on tai chi and the resort’s own Herb Garden, and a single all-day restaurant serving farm-to-table Vietnamese and international plates alongside sunset afternoon tea. Close enough to Hoi An to borrow its magic, far enough to feel like nobody else’s.

Karma Duyên welcomed its first Members on 01 August, the opening marked by monks leading a traditional blessing for good fortune, peace and prosperity, followed by votive paper burned in remembrance of ancestors and live fish released into the river, a Vietnamese custom for compassion, liberation and good karma.

The rituals mirror what Karma Duyên stands for: gratitude, peace, compassion, connection. Formalities gave way to a BBQ dinner shared by Karma Group Members from across Vietnam, plates passed late into the evening. The start of a serene new Karma chapter in Vietnam’s cultural heartland.
