Karma Bayon: Gateway to Angkor Wat

Siem Reap is the gateway to the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat – a destination that captivates travellers with its rich cultural heritage and one of the most jaw-dropping and best-preserved ancient temple complexes in the world.

So we’re delighted to unveil our latest acquisition in Southeast Asia and our first in Cambodia: Karma Bayon, a tranquil oasis featuring a selection of beautifully appointed, fully air-conditioned rooms and suites that mix contemporary styling with traditional Khmer decorative elements.

Ensconced in lush tropical gardens, Karma Bayon is set to open this August,  providing a serene haven, where Members can enjoy not one but two outdoor swimming pools, rejuvenate at the world-class Karma Spa facility, sip cocktails  at the bar and savour exquisite regional and international dishes at the in-house restaurant.

Then of course there is Siem Reap’s most iconic attraction: the wonder that is Angkor Wat. Siem Reap is a mere short 3.8 miles from the legendary temple complex, which famously provided the location for the first Tomb Raider film – but more importantly, was the seat of one of the most advanced and extensive cultures in the region and was only discovered in the 1840s. It is nearly 900 years old and the biggest religious monument in the world – four times larger than the Vatican City.

It is easy to spend days exploring the wonderfully preserved structures, intricate carvings and awe-inspiring architecture covered in jungle roots that have earned Angkor Wat its hallowed place as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Siem Reap itself is a wonderfully vibrant town with a mix of Cambodian and French colonial cultural influences and a lively nightlife. Karma Bayon is located, just a short walk from the famous Pub Street as well as numerous cafes, eateries, Buddhist temples and more.

We’ll be sharing more details on the resort in upcoming editions of Karma Community – including details on advanced bookings ahead of the official opening on 01 September 2024.
