High Summer Happenings

As we hit the high summer months, we’re previewing some of the events that are happening at Karma destinations across Europe and the UK so you can potentially plan your holidays around them…

Carcassonne – Tour de France + Bastille Day

Carcassonne plays host to Stages 15 & 16 of the Tour de France – unquestionably the greatest road cycle race in the world. You can catch the action roadside as the racers enter the final week of the Tour on 18 and 19 July. Even better, a few days before on 14 July, towns and villages across the region will celebrate Bastille Day with fireworks and street parties – including a special display at the Carcassonne Citadel itself.

Scotland – Doune the Rabbit Hole Music Festival

If you love live music, you’ll love this intimate festival that takes place at Cardross Estate just down the road from Karma Lake of Menteith. After a Pandemic hiatus, the festival returns with some stellar acts including Patti Smith, Orbital, Belle & Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub, 808 State and Sleaford Mods performing.

Bavaria – Lake Schliersee Festival

Over three days on the last weekend of July, Lake Schliersee springs to life with traditional Bavarian performances and colourful costumes, fireworks and the now legendary Fischerstecken or water jousting, on the Lake. You can also enjoy concerts, traditional dances and of course lots of delicious Bavarian food and beer!

Cotswolds – The Game Fair

Between 29-31 July, country folk from across England gather in the Cotswolds to celebrate traditions from clay pigeon shooting to falconry to dog training to wild foods, archery and traditional crafts. It’s a great chance to get an insight into the centuries old traditions of the English countryside.
