Karma Borgo di Colleoli hosted a Karma Supper Club unlike any other. Inspired by Samuel Beckett’s classic Waiting for Godot, the evening paired a six-course menu with regional wines before Members were treated to a private performance of the play — bringing together food, theatre and storytelling in a way that was unique to the series.
The performance came just days before Waiting for Godot opened to the public at the Teatro Romano in Volterra as part of the Volterra International Festival. The 2026 production, directed by Rupert Mason and presented by J.Productions, marked the return of an English-language production of Beckett’s play to Italy after more than forty years.
For Members at Karma Borgo di Colleoli, the experience offered an early encounter with the production before its public Volterra performances. The subsequent staging at the historic Roman Theatre placed Beckett’s modern classic against one of Tuscany’s most distinctive ancient settings — an evocative meeting of contemporary theatre and centuries-old surroundings.
