Get Outdoors : St. Martin’s Walking Trails

Since 4th July, we’ve been welcoming guests back to the shores of Karma St. Martin’s. This beachfront, historical (and pet friendly) boutique hotel is located on one of the most pristine islands on earth and is a must-visit.

The Isles of Scilly are an archipelago 40km’s off Land’s End at the tip of Cornwall with five inhabited islands to explore (all with amazing year-round walking trails).  Island hop and explore English countryside flora and fauna, galleries and local cuisine. St. Martin’s, in particular, is known for its white sandy beaches, secluded coves, rugged coastal walks and trails. It’s a magnet for artists, adventurers, nature lovers, and hikers!

Here’s 3 of the best walking experiences on St. Martin’s…

Coastal Walk

A lovely coastal walk offering the chance to see seals and birdlife whilst enjoying beautiful views across the Islands and out over the Atlantic Ocean. A varied terrain of coastal paths, sand banks and island roads will bring the beauty of the natural surroundings into focus.

Sunset Walk

With stunning sunsets, the Isles of Scilly are a spectacular setting to see the Sun go down.  A variety of walks are available from sandy beaches to the craggy cliffs around the North end of St. Martin’s. Enjoy a brisk evening walk and find a secluded spot to watch the sunset with a take-away bottle of wine/champagne and fresh lobster to welcome in the evening.

Night Sky Walk, St. Martin’s

With no light pollution on the island, star gazing at the pristine night skies here is a dream. This walk begins after the Sun has gone down and can be enjoyed by all ages; a stunning short stroll along the beach looking up at the exquisite starry skies, unlike any other.
