We’re adding a dozen new Karma Curated experiences to the calendar this week, in two parts. Five are one-off dates between January and June 2027, taking Members from a winter supper in London to the mangroves of southern Bali. The other seven are something new for us: recurring experiences running monthly through the year, giving Members a raft of dates to choose from to align with preferred travel times. You ask for more, we deliver!
Our five new one-offs are built around the table. On 14 January, we gather at Bubala, the famous Middle Eastern vegetarian restaurant in Covent Garden, for a Veganuary supper club of shared plates and wine. In May, we take Members from Karma Royal Sanur to Varuna, an underwater theatre at Marine Safari Bali, where mermaids and dancers perform inside a vast aquarium through lunch. A fortnight later we are at Karma Song Hoai, tasting cao lau, Hoi An’s pork noodles, and xi ma, a black sesame soup that Cantonese traders brought to the port centuries ago. We return to Bali twice in June: first to Karma Royal Candidasa, for the water palaces of Tirtagangga and Taman Ujung, both built by Karangasem’s last king, then to Karma Royal Jimbaran, where we share a megibung, the Karangasem custom of eating together from one banana leaf, before boating through the Ngurah Rai mangroves.

For two of our seven new recurring events, we take our cues from local custom. In Hoi An, residents float lanterns on the Hoai River at every full moon, and at Karma Duyên we join them each month. In Bali, households lay out canang sari, small palm-leaf offerings, every morning, and at Karma Royal Jimbaran Members learn to fold them before choosing dinner at the fish market. From Karma Kandara, we follow an ocean blessing with the Kecak at Uluwatu, a sunset fire dance in which a circle of men chant the Ramayana, the Hindu epic, while from Karma Royal Candidasa we sail by jukung, a wooden outrigger, to snorkel the Blue Lagoon. In Crete, we drive Jeeps from Karma Minoan into mountain villages or take to the Aegean for snorkelling and meze on deck, and at Karma Bavaria we follow King Ludwig II, the 19th-century “fairytale king”, to Neuschwanstein, the castle that inspired Disney.
