That means a bewildering tapestry of festivals and concerts bringing with them a whirlwind of music, art, culture, cuisine and above all community and connection…. Here are a few of our picks of the Summer within easy reach of our European resorts…
In London, the Wireless Festival takes over Finsbury Park from 01 to 03 July with headliners including rap royalty Kendrick Lamar and pop sensation Billie Eilish, while the iconic Hyde Park showcases iconic acts including the legend that is Elton John and veteran rockers Pearl Jam.
Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Cotswolds in England’s rural heartlands, the enchanting Wilderness Festival (04 – 07 August) weaves together music, art, and nature with a family oriented approach that caters to veteran ravers too, featuring acts like Florence + The Machine and Bon Iver.
Up in Scotland, the Edinburgh International Festival (06 – 30 August) draws crowds from all over the the world, showcasing a diverse array of performances from the disciplines of classical music, opera, theatre and dance against the backdrop of the city’s historic landmarks.
Bavaria comes alive with the sounds of traditional folk music during the Munich Summer Festival, (15 July – 17 August) while In Carcassonne, France, the Festival de Carcassonne (01 – 31 July) is a laid back blend of music and culture within the ancient walls of the mediaeval fortress city.
Over in the Aegean, internationally renowned artists like Ed Sheeran and Foo Fighters take the stage at the Plakias Music Festival (20 June – 10 July) on the island of Crete, set against the backdrop of sun-kissed beaches and cerulean waters.
