There’s a new corner of Koh Samui with Karma’s name on it – and it’s a good one. Hot off the presses, Karma Sawet is our latest acquisition on one of our favourite tropical islands – a cluster of just 13 beautifully appointed suites set high above Maenam, looking straight out across the Gulf of Thailand to Koh Phangan. It’s quiet, elevated, and feels deliberately removed from the hustle and bustle – while remaining within easy reach.
The setting does most of the work. This stretch of the north coast has become Samui’s most polished address in recent years – the same coastline as the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui – but Karma Sawet keeps things smaller and more private. Below, Maenam beach runs long and golden, one of the island’s best for an unhurried swim.

You’re also firmly in Karma territory here. Karma Panalee is a few minutes down the road, with Karma Two Palms Beach Club close nearby for long lunches that drift into sunset. Just inland, the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary adds something more meaningful – a rare chance to spend time with rescued elephants in a setting that feels properly considered.

It’s an intimate addition, and a smart one. Small enough to feel personal, well placed enough to feel connected – and another sign that Thailand isn’t slowing down any time soon.
