A Scottish Standout

The 2023 edition of the Scottish Hotel Awards is now in the books – and wouldn’t you know it, but Karma Lake of Menteith was once again one of the biggest winners – cementing its position as one of the most beloved retreats in the heart of rural Scotland.

First up,  Karma Lake of Menteith scooped the Country Bar of the Year award – no easy feat in a country that’s filled with cosy and inviting drinking holes and a welcome recognition of our charming lakeside location and its inviting atmosphere.

The culinary prowess of Chef Joe Peden once again shines bright,  as he clinched the Gary Goldie Memorial Quaich for Chef & Food Inspiration, a testament to the exceptional dining experiences he’s been crafting at Karma Lake of Menteith. From dishes inspired by his time in the American South,  to farm to table creations sourcing delicious ingredients from Trossach producers, Chef Joe’s culinary creations are not to be missed – as this award affirms!

Adding to the roster of achievements, Joshua Ford was crowned ‘Rising Star Manager of the Year,’ a reflection of his dedication to guest satisfaction and the seamless operation of the resort.

  1. Congratulations both we were with 6th to 11th November really enjoyed our stay
Also had pleasure of meeting and chatting with Vic and Joseph … previously met Jo at Kandara.. memorable tasting menu evening and slow barbecued beef !

  2. All we can say is that Lake Menteith was a highlight of our 9 weeks in the Uk with 6 of those weeks in Scotland. Joe and his team served us incredible food every day, especially as I had a diet which did not allow garlic or onion. Joe made a special menu for me for the week, it was the most delicious food, my husband caught trout and Joe and his offsides prepared the fresh fish. The location is wonderful we loved the spot and all the staff were very welcoming and lots off fun.
