The Karma Group’s Karma Borgo di Colleoli resort is slated to reopen this July!(regulations permitting). In anticipation, we’ve rounded up must-do places to visit that are located within a few hours from our Tuscany villa resort.
Cinque Terre
Pack your hiking gear – just a couple of hours away is the legendary Cinque Terre (five lands) set along the coastlines of the Italian Riviera. Enjoy mountain vistas, villages full of colorful houses, vineyards and regional cuisine. Feeling fit? It takes at least eight hours to explore these coastal villages by foot.
Florence
An hour’s drive from the Karma Borgo di Colleoli is Florence, the enchanting capital city of Tuscany – Michelangelo’s sculptures, Renaissance art and all! Make sure you wear your walking shoes as this city is best explored by foot. Treat yourself to a gelato and venture up to the streets above the city. Florence (Firenze) offers the best of Italian culture – art, food, and UNESCO historical sites.
Leaning Tower of Pisa
Just a forty-minute drive from the resort is the most famous tilted building in the world. At a nearly four-degree lean, one may think it could topple over, but it’s the center of gravity that keeps the bell tower grounded. A must-see for the whole family!
San Gimignano
Make sure you add San Gimignano into your Italian itinerary. This medieval Tuscan town situated southwest of Florence is best known as the Town of Fine Towers. Lovers of architecture will appreciate the medieval towers that surround this historic hilltop town. The center of San Gimignano is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit Venice
The romantic city of Venice is located around 3.5 hours away from the Karma Borgo di Colleoli resort and is a must-visit when this city reopens to visitors. Explore incredible architecture and marvel the famous glass creations at the Murano Glass Museum. Do touristy things such as a gondola ride down the canal – if there’s one thing we will take away from the 2020 pandemic, it’s to make the most of this life we’ve been gifted.
Went to Tuscany 26 years sho for our honeymoon and can still feel the sun, fresh food, wine and hospitality as if it was yesterday
Thank you for sharing your amazing memories of Tuscany with us, Dianna-Lee! We do hope you can travel again soon.
Fell in love with Cinque Terre after watching Gino d`Campo the Chef promote the food there and also whilst reading “The Lemon Tree Hotel” a beautifully descriptive novel by Rosanna Ley which is set in that area, and should be read in the sunshine with a glass of wine. Karma Borgo di Colleoli looks absolutely wonderful. Hope to visit one day.
Hi Kathy! We look forward to welcoming you to Karma Borgo di Colleoli as soon as it is safe to travel again. We hope you can soon sit in the sunshine with a glass of wine and read!

Hoping to make it at least next year. We had planned for 2021 but the pandemic struck. Fingers crossed for 2022. My visit to this particular resort has been jinxed I guess. I tried in 2019 but could not get a booking, then 2021 happened, now fingers crossed for 2022!!
Well, it’s been said – third time’s a charm! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you, Kausalya!
