Meet Siddanth Dessai from Goa

In the latest edition of Staff Spotlight, you’re about to meet Siddanth Dessai – our team leader at Karma Concierge, based in Goa. Siddanth’s passion for continuous learning and personal growth, whether that’s through exploring new horizons or taking on new challenges, is simply contagious. From our Q&A below, it’s clear to see why meaningful connections, supporting his colleagues and living in Goa, are just some of the things that keep him motivated and fulfilled.

Hey Siddanth, tell us a bit about your personal background?

I was born and brought up in South Goa, in the beautiful ancestral village of Cuncolim where I have lived with my family for the past 24 years. Cuncolim is steeped in history and culture, with a close-knit community. My family has deep roots here, and we’ve cherished many traditions and festivals over the years. I completed my early education in my hometown and pursued my higher studies in computer science.

How did you join the Karma Group?

Karma Group has an excellent reputation in the lifestyle industry, to create memorable holidays for many Members. Although I had no background in the travel industry, I was introduced to Karma Group through some acquaintances. Deciding to try something new, I walked in for an interview. To my delight, joining Karma Group turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made – that was two years ago.

Tell us about your role at Karma Concierge

I am a team leader at Karma Concierge, responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring our Members receive exceptional service and support. My role involves coordinating with the team to address Member inquiries, manage reservations, and enhance overall Member satisfaction.

What inspires you the most about your job?

The opportunity to create memorable experiences for our Members and to see the joy and satisfaction they derive from their holidays. Working with a dedicated and passionate team, under the guidance of our exceptional General Manager, Jessica Fernandes also motivates and inspires me daily.

How do you spend your free time? What are the things that make you ‘come alive’?

I enjoy driving, watching movies, playing sports, and chilling out with friends. I also love exploring new places, whether that’s on a weekend getaway or trying a new café. It’s how I relax, recharge, and stay connected with the things that bring me happiness and fulfilment.

Do you have a personal dream or aspiration that you would be willing to share with us?

My dream has always been to make my parents proud and give them everything they deserve.  It’s why I aspire to continue to challenge myself and learn new skills so that I can grow both personally and professionally. Ultimately, I hope to make a positive impact on those around me and lead a fulfilling life filled with meaningful experiences and relationships.

What favourite places in Goa would you recommend to Karma Members?
  1. Palolem Beach – its serene, relaxed and perfect for sunsets.
  2. Old Goa – It’s rich in history and architecture and offers a glimpse into Goa’s colonial past.
  3. Dudhsagar Waterfalls – A spectacular natural attraction, ideal for adventurous nature lovers.
  4. Cabo de Rama – A picturesque beach situated on the coast of South Goa, India. Renowned for its pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters.
  5. Agonda Beach – Famous for its lively atmosphere, water sports, and beachside dining options.
  6. Keri Beach – Also known as Querim Beach, it’s a secluded and tranquil beach ideal for those looking to escape the crowds.

These destinations all offer a mix of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and vibrant experiences. All the reasons I love Goa!

Besides that, can you share a travel tip for Asia you often give to Karma Group Members

When travelling in Asia, one travel tip I often share with Karma Group members is to embrace local cuisine and street food. Asian countries offer an incredible variety of flavours and dishes that you won’t find anywhere else. Always look for busy stalls with high turnover, as this indicates fresh and popular food. Exploring local markets and interacting with vendors can provide a richer cultural experience and a deeper connection to the destination.

If you could book a KG getaway with any historical figure or famous person, who would it be and why?

I would choose to visit the Karma properties in Europe alongside Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket superstar! Spending time with him would give me insight into discipline, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence, both in sports and in life.

Thanks Siddanth!
