I recently had the chance to visit Karma Bayon, just ahead of its official opening in early September. This trip felt a bit like a reconnaissance mission to scope out what’s bound to become one of Siem Reap’s most unique resorts. From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by the resort’s luxurious feel—dark wood accents in the rooms, two stunning pools, and an overall ambiance of elegance and comfort. The standout feature has to be the villa at the front of the property; with its beautiful chandeliers and spacious rooms, it exudes a sense of grandeur that somehow sets the tone for the entire stay.
One of the highlights of my trip was a guided tour to Angkor Wat. What a treat to watch the sunrise behind the temple. It was a truly magical experience that allowed us to explore the site in the cooler, quieter hours of the day and a special way to delve into the rich history and culture of Cambodia.
For members planning a visit, here’s my top tip: hop on a tuk-tuk and head into the main area of Siem Reap, which is only a short ride from the resort. For just $1-$2 each way, you can explore a lively city filled with bars, restaurants, local markets and shops. Despite its size, it is quaint, charming and filled with a sense of history and converging cultures.
The overall highlight of my trip, however, was the freedom to drive around the area and discover hidden temples, waterfalls, and scenic lookout points. Every day was an adventure, and it was always a pleasure to return to the cozy comfort of Karma Bayon. All in all, it was an incredible trip, and I can’t wait for others to experience the magic of this place.
Look forward to experiance the magic soon.
We can’t wait to host you!
