Acclaimed Indonesian travel photographer and visual storyteller Stanley Aryanto has been our artist in residence at Karma Kandara for a few months now. As committed to philanthropy as he is to photography, over the festive period, Stanley dedicated time to supporting the kids of Bali Life Foundation, giving them a brief introduction to photography.
Stanley was on hand to capture heartwarming images of the kids as they performed Christmas carols and later received their gifts from Santa Claus. The award winning photographer then gave the children the opportunity to try taking some photographs of their own. After some quick instructions, he handed over his camera and let them get creative with it – which they did, with much enthusiasm.
Stanley will soon follow up this first casual introduction to photography with a more formal masterclass, where he’ll teach the kids some of the fundamental principles of photography before moving on to practical workshops where the kids are given themes or subjects to capture.
