Education and children’s welfare have long been core pillars of our Karma Cares philanthropic work around the world – including in Indonesia. Karma Royal Jimbaran recently marked Indonesia’s Independence celebrations with a special visit to Panti Asuhan Dharma Jati II orphanage in the Bali capital, Denpasar. The “Independence Day Charity Event 2024” brought joy to 51 children aged between 4-17 from various districts of Bali.
The Karma Group team organised fun activities and games, providing thoughtful gifts to create lasting memories for the orphans. This outreach highlighted the belief that every child deserves happiness, regardless of their circumstances.
Not all of the children at Dharma Jati have lost both of their parents. Some were placed there due to challenging family situations, underscoring the complex realities many Balinese families face – though the island is the tourism jewel of the archipelago, many Balinese in remote areas still live in poverty.
Staff and management from Karma Royal Jimbaran spearheaded a fundraising effort, collecting food supplies and gently used items for donation. While modest in scale, these contributions aim to make a meaningful difference in the children’s lives.
This initiative reflects Karma Group’s commitment to community engagement, demonstrating that true hospitality extends far beyond resort walls to touch the lives of those in need.
