On a quiet July morning in Mahabaleshwar, something a little different took place at Karma Lakewood, our tranquil resort in the Mahabaleshwar Hills. The resort’s usual buzz of honeymooners and laid back holidaymakers gave way to a different kind of energy as eighteen staff members and four members of the local community gathered for a blood donation drive that felt more like a community celebration than a medical procedure.
This was Karma Cares at its finest— no fanfare, just people doing good because it matters. The numbers tell one story: twenty-two blood donations, each capable of saving up to three lives. But walk through those resort corridors that day and you’d have witnessed something else entirely—colleagues supporting each other, nervous first-time donors finding courage, and a genuine sense that everyone was part of something bigger.
Working alongside the Indian Red Cross Society’s Bel Air Hospital and PHC Tapola, the team ensured everything ran smoothly while keeping the atmosphere relaxed. The health check-ups were a bonus, giving staff access to preventive care that’s often pushed aside in the daily rush of resort life.
