After The Flood: Standing With Bali

When torrential rains swept across Bali this past month, entire neighbourhoods in Denpasar were left reeling. Lives were lost, homes were destroyed and damaged, daily essentials washed away, and communities suddenly found themselves without access to the everyday basics. In the aftermath, Karma Kandara – through Karma Cares – mobilised to help those most in need.

On 19 September 2025, Karma team members joined forces with local community leaders to deliver aid directly to three of the hardest-hit areas: Kampung Jawa, Dusun Wanasari, and Desa Dauh Puri Kaja. The work was personal – staff and volunteers walked narrow alleys, meeting families face-to-face, ensuring relief reached those most affected.

Donations included foldable mattresses, stoves, food supplies, kitchen utensils, school uniforms, and stationery for children from primary through senior high school. Financial donations to the tune of IDR 40 million were also provided, alongside contributions to disaster relief posts, representing a substantial outpouring of both resources and solidarity.

What shone brightest, however, was the spirit of togetherness. Staff not only gave goods but also their time and presence, standing shoulder to shoulder with neighbours in crisis. The effort reflects Karma Group’s ongoing commitment to community, a belief that hospitality extends far beyond resorts, reaching into the very heart of Bali itself.
