On 30 August, Karma Beach Bali transforms into a slice of the American South — where hickory smoke drifts over the waves and the clink of wine glasses keeps time with a live country band. Master chef and southern barbecue impresario Joseph Antonishek presides over a Texan–South Carolina BBQ cook-off, each dish a love letter to slow fire and bold flavour.
The evening begins with plump ocean-infused oysters served as delicate amuse-bouche, followed by a composed salad that nods to summer gardens. Then the long table feast begins: inventive family-style sides reimagining Southern staples, flanking a mouth-watering face-off between dry-rubbed Texan ribs and their sauce-slathered South Carolina cousins.


Bonfires roar on the sand, a Komodo grill glows and a friendly lasso competition adds a dash of rodeo spirit. Save room for the grand finale: a golden-crusted American apple pie worthy of any county fair.
