The Future of Karma Kandara Takes Shape

Atop limestone cliffs high above the rolling surf of the Indian Ocean along Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, the next chapter of Karma Kandara is about to take shape as Phase VI gets underway. Last week saw the official Ngeruwak ritual and groundbreaking ceremony take place, with senior leadership, architects and construction teams — joined by local Balinese community leaders – marking the official commencement, with traditional blessings and symbolic foundation-laying rites, honouring the cultural lifeblood that underpins Karma Kandara.

Phase VI marks a transformative new chapter in Kandara’s architectural story, centring on elegant and sinuous apartment buildings and villas complete with communal spaces that broaden the resort’s living landscape. The design conceived by renowned architects Patterns LA — has already won top honours, including Platinum in the Hospitality & Hotel Design category at the International Architecture & Design Awards 2025/26.

Two sculptural buildings rise as island landmarks: one arranged around an open courtyard, the other a crystalline form that frames views and anchors new shared realms. Ten luxury villas, a meandering pool with al fresco restaurant and social spaces knit these elements together, blending sculptural modernity with echoes of Balinese temple forms and locally sourced materials like andesite, lava stone and hardwood timber.

Phase VI promises contemporary luxury, cultural resonance and panoramic serenity — a new architectural milestone for Karma Kandara and a bold vision for the cliff-top resort’s bright future.
