Secret Supper Club’s late summer season sessions alight on the island of Crete and the fabled Italian province of Tuscany this August and September as two of our favourite chefs conjure fabulous feasts inspired by two seminal cookbooks from the deep past.  Historic, nutritious and delicious – in true Mediterranean style.


The Heart & Soul of Cretan Cuisine (29 Aug)

At Karma Minoan, Chef Nektaria Grigoraki stirs soul into every dish. With seven years at the helm of Karma Minoan’s kitchen and roots steeped in Cretan tradition, she invites you to taste a story told in herbs, sea air and mountain light. Inspired by the sacred simplicity of Father Epiphanios’s “The Cuisine of the Holy Mountain Athos”, this Karma Supper Club is a heartfelt journey across Greece’s gardens and coastline. Over the course of five thoughtful dishes, discover such delights as lemon scented fish soup to tender octopus stew and raki at sunset.  This is food that remembers, honours and welcomes.

Karma Borgo di Colleoli’s Head Chef Maurizio Valentini presents an extraordinary evening of culinary archaeology coupled with contemporary culinary techniques. Drawing inspiration from Pellegrino Artusi’s seminal “Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well”, Valentini transforms medieval Italian gastronomy through contemporary innovations, weaving stories of tradition, memory, and conviviality into each meticulously crafted course.
