Row, Row, Row your boat…to Antigua!

This winter, longtime Karma Ambassador Ollie Phillips will trade rugby boots and business suits for oars and open ocean. Alongside his crew aboard SeasLife, he sets out to row more than 3,000 miles in The World’s Toughest Row across the Atlantic – from the Canary Islands to Antigua – in what’s widely considered one of the toughest endurance events on Earth.

The crossing will mean weeks at sea with no support vessel: two hours rowing, two hours resting, around the clock. Towering swells, scorching sun, and sleep deprivation are all part of the challenge, but so too is the camaraderie forged between crewmates, each stroke pulling them closer to landfall in the Caribbean.

Karma Group is proud to support Ollie on this epic voyage, which raises funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which supports those affected by motor neurone disease, as well as grassroots education initiatives in the UK.

It’s a journey that speaks to Karma’s ethos: testing limits, embracing adventure, and giving back. Nor is it the first time we’ve supported My Name’5 Doddie Foundation – last year we raised £13,331 as part of the All Roads Lead to Rome charity fundraiser ahead of the Six Nations England v Italy match 2024.

For Ollie, this is yet another chapter in a life lived at full tilt. For those who follow, it’s a reminder of what can be achieved when courage, purpose, and community come together on the open sea.
