With schools in Bali closed since March, The Karma Group has been busy raising funds for the Bali Children’s Project to provide smartphones to the kids of Bali so they can stay connected and keep learning online.
The Karma Group has long supported the Bali Children’s Project through their Karma Cares philanthropy initiative, providing transport, computers, funds to build libraries, and sponsorships for Bali children in need. Over the last few months, the kids have been forced to study online with Zoom and Google Classroom, however, many did not have the tools to get connected and continue their education..
Says Fundraising and Communications Manager, Aron Hughes: ‘Long term supporters Karma Group have once again gone above and beyond by helping students in Bali access education. We thank you again to all at Karma Group for your continued support of our Emergency Fund, which allows us to use funding where it is needed most.’
The Bali Children’s Project is a non-profit charity dedicated to helping children escape poverty through education. The organization originated in the early 1990s when Joyce Scott and John Cooke recognized children unable to access school. They saw a cycle of rural poverty driven by lack of education, especially for young girls.
