Dario’s Osteria introduces Lombardy Delights

Lombardy is famed for its rich and distinctive culinary traditions, giving rise to such delights as silken risottos, braised meats that fall apart at a glance and pasta rolled thin as linen. It is a cuisine of patience and place, of dairy-rich valleys and mountain air that is especially beloved of Dario Quinteros, the talented chef de cuisine at Karma Bavaria. Which is why he is bringing it to Schliersee and giving it a personal twist with the launch of an all-new eatery.

Chef Dario has recast the resort’s restaurant formerly KarmaSee as Dario’s Osteria, a haven of authentic Italian mountain cuisine, fresh Bavarian ingredients and sweeping alpine views. The new destination eatery includes a considered redesign of the restaurant interior – but most importantly a fully reimagined menu. Patrons will get their first taste on 17 April at the restaurant’s grand opening – with complimentary welcome prosecco and a special tasting menu.

Dario, who is Argentinian with Italian heritage, trained at the prestigious Argentine Institute of Gastronomy and is well versed in both his native culinary traditions and those of the Mediterranean, Catalonia and the alpine regions.

His cooking at Dario’s Osteria draws deeply from Northern Italian tradition while staying faithful to the Bavarian landscape outside the window: alpine cheeses, mountain-cured meats, lake fish treated with Lombard delicacy. The ingredients are local; the sensibility is unmistakably Italian.

Karma Bavaria and the Schliersee region have always been beautiful. Now, with the Alps framed beyond the glass and a melody of flavours from Lombardy and Bavaria on your plate, Dario’s Osteria adds another delightful layer to the whole experience.
