Naturalist and broadcaster Steve Backshall and Olympian rowing phenomenon Helen Glover are both huge fans of a peaceful little archipelago that huddles off the southernmost reaches of Cornwall. The Isles of Scilly are a magical grouping of islands that feel quintessentially English, yet enjoy a microclimate that encourages many plant species – succulents in particular – that you’d expect to see in places like the Canary Islands. Not to mention the many marine species that are found in the waters here. We were delighted to host Steve and Helen at Karma St. Martin’s – and as you will gather from these video reviews of their holiday, they enjoyed another memorable escape in their favourite island refuge in the world!
