A New Chapter For Candidasa

The architectural vision for the all new  Karma Candidasa resort has been recognised once again on the global design stage, winning at the prestigious International Design Awards 2025, selected from entries spanning more than 70 countries. Awarded for clarity of vision and design excellence, the project represents a landmark in contemporary tropical architecture.

Designed by Alejandro Loor of acclaimed LA based firm PATTERNS Architects, the concept responds directly to its setting in Candidasa, East Bali, a quieter, elemental stretch of coastline where mountains, sea and temple culture still shape daily life. The architecture is grounded rather than imposed: low-slung forms, clean lines and natural materials sit lightly within the landscape, prioritising airflow, shade and visual connection to the ocean. Indoor and outdoor spaces blur, creating a sense of openness that feels both modern and deeply place-specific.

East Bali remains one of the island’s most unspoilt regions, known for its calm seas, vibrant reefs and some of Bali’s finest snorkelling and diving just offshore – a rare combination of serenity and underwater drama. Karma Candidasa promises not just a new resort, but a thoughtful architectural statement rooted in place, restraint and long-term relevance.
