Karma Lake of Menteith’s enchanting lakeside eatery has claimed its place among Britain’s finest dining destinations through OpenTable’s prestigious Diners’ Choice recognition.
Our enchanting Stirlingshire resort has been a firm favourite with Members, media and hospitality industry experts since its inception. Originally built in 1888, Karma Lake of Menteith can accommodate 48 guests across spacious rooms with conservatories and dining areas overlooking Scotland’s only designated “lake” (quite why it’s a lake not a loch is the subject of some debate!) The crystalline waters provide excellent fishing while serving as backdrop for kayaking and contemplative boat trips.
The Trossachs National Park beckons minutes away, while Inchmahome Priory’s historic island monastery and Doune Castle offer glimpses into Scotland’s rich heritage. The restaurant’s culinary philosophy celebrates this deeply felt sense of place through locally sourced ingredients—fresh trout pulled directly from the lake, hearty seasonal game dishes from neighbouring reserves, and signature desserts capturing Highland flavours.

The restaurant’s exclusive tasting menus transform regional produce into sophisticated culinary narratives. Each dish connects diners to authentic Scottish country rhythms, from pristine waters yielding the freshest fish to wild lands providing game.
This OpenTable award further cements what Members already knew to be true: real luxury lies in authentic experiences honouring both place and palate.
