Blair Kinghorn is one of the most exciting players in elite international rugby right now. The Scotland international is a formidable fullback and handy fly half to boot. He’s also great company – which we discovered when we sat down with the affable scotsman and newly minted Karma Ambassador last week…
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a tough match or training session?
After a hard game I would say having a beer and watching NFL redzone (as we usually play Sunday night at 9pm) After tough training I usually like to sit in the jacuzzi for as long as possible before I turn into a prune.
As someone who travels frequently for both work and leisure, what’s one item you never leave home without?
The classic answer would be the phone but more recently I would say my Kindle
What advice would you give to aspiring young rugby players?
Have fun with it. I play my best when I’m enjoying myself. Be switched on when you have to but remember to enjoy training and games with your friends. Those are the best memories.
What’s the most embarrassing song on your workout playlist that you secretly love?
Up by Cardi B
Who are your rugby heroes from the past and why?
Loved Dan Carter when I was a young lad. He was someone who I’d watch on YouTube for hours. One that people maybe aren’t so aware of would be Benji Marshal an NRL (rugby league) player. The way he attacked was beautiful to watch.
What was your greatest on-pitch moment?
Winning the European Rugby Champions Cup with Stade Toulousain.
What are the top three things you love the most about travelling?
Sunshine, Trying new foods and restaurants. I love going out for food especially on holiday, Relaxing with either cocktail / beer / wine in hand
If you had to play a different position in rugby, which one would you choose and why?
Definitely nowhere in the forward pack. Think in the backline maybe 13 , would be maybe nice to attack slightly closer to the breakdown.
Which Karma Group Resort destination is at the top of your bucket list and why?
Karma Bali, it’s always somewhere where I’ve wanted to go so can’t wait to try and get out for some time off over there. Gorgeous.
If you could swap skills with any athlete from another sport for a day, who would it be and why?
100% a golfer, probably Scottie Scheffler. Would love to know the feeling of hitting a golf ball straight and it going where you want it to.
